Had a chance finally to throw this line around this weekend on the fall river.

Now I have thrown the aqualux and currently own the Cortland 444 camo. I absolutely love the Aqualux. But the Cortland 444 camo is horrible line IMHO, anytime you try to haul and launch you can count on a line knot/tangle to catch a guide.

Now on to the Camo lux- Out of the box I was a little worried as it felt similar to the Cortland 444camo. The coloring is better in the Camolux compared to the Cortland in my opinion. Once we got on the water And I had a chance to get the line wet and start launching, I was more than pleased. It only tangled a few times, but if you saw it coming a few shakes with your stripping hand would make it fall apart quickly. The tackyness of the line was not to noticable on the fingers. I was actually able to get some good length out of the cast using a 10' 6wt TFO lefty pro series.

All in all out of a scale of 1-10 I would rate this line an 8.5/9 simply because of the tacky feel that comes along with the "camoing".

Would I recomend this to a friend- Heck Yeah!

I've had a Cortland 444 Clear Camo intermediate line for years now and I've always hated it. You're dead-on about the tangles.

The line I had previously was an Orvis intermediate that I really liked. The reviews of the current Orvis line have not been favorable so I'm not likely to get it again. Perhaps I should give the Rio a chance.

Do you have a sense about how it would perform in cold weather? The Cortland is quite stiff and has a lot of coil memory in the cold.
