Went up to Reno for a couple of days....hope to fish Pyramid Lake during the storm...but Pyramid was unfishable from all the muddy water from the Truckee river going into the south end of the lake.
So i went over to Frenchman Lake....started fishing the Northend of the lake where where the creek comes into the lake. With over head cloud cover, and light winds on Wed. water temp. 64 degrees, i used a intermedate line and a black wiggle tail fished close to the bottom i caught over 20 trout in a couple of hours
Thursday Susan (my wife) and i went back to the northend again, and with the sun out, light winds, water temp. 64 degrees the catching was alot slower....we landed a couple of fish and lost some fish. Most of the rainbows were planters 14" ....but Susan did land a 17" brown...a first for us at Frenchman Lake.
I didn't see any damsels nymph swimming around...but i did see some adult damsels flying around, i think the damsels nymphs are crawing across the bottom and climbing up the willows to emerge. Most of the fish we caught the fly was fished close to the bottom.
