Well, one month of my summer break is gone and I am still looking for some dry fly action in the Sierras. I headed up along a branch of the American at around 5800 ft elevation today in hopes that the flows would be dropping. The past two years this spot has been in good shape by mid May, but it is still ripping this year. I did manage to entice a few fish to come to the surface in some calmer pockets, but as you can see from the pictures, there is still a lot of water. At least August and September should be great this year.

Looks like a blast.....most of the normal rivers are super blown out. But like you said.....august and september should fish great.
