It feels good to be home and into some hot weather. Looks like the La Paz area could get the tail end of a TS. Just looked at the web cam from Baja Joe's and it's already blowing out there with some heavy over cast.
I'd like to say "thank you" to all my clients who participated in my Baja Fly Fishing Adventures program and hope you enjoyed yourself. The weather played a few games with us in that early in the season, we missed a day during the first three weeks but then things changed. We had a lot of big roosters the first 4 or maybe 5 weeks into the trips. As the days went on, the bigger roosters left the beach area and we started seeing dorado off the beach. There were big numbers of dorado around the La Ventana area and towards Punta Gorda. But the biggest thing this year was the size of the yellow fin tuna. I saw some over 300lbs and a number of them in the 150lb to 275lbs. We had one person land a 50lber on a Sage XI2 9wt which took 1 hour 10 minutes. There were a few bigger tuna in the school but I wanted to get this event on video so I put the rod down :-)
We also had one rooster that was pretty close to 80lbs caught by a person who flew all the way from New Caladonia. It seems like this was the primary target fish on everybody's list.

But now Roosters, jacks, dorado and tuna have come to an end and I'm now chasing carp in many of my local lakes. I'll start posting some photo's as I catch them, if I do. There not as easy as lady fish or needle fish.

I have a few spots left in my October trip in which you will be targeting yellow fin, dorado, marlin, some smaller roosters. Also, next year's schedule will be posted on my web site by next week. I'm also doing a "back to back" weeks for a reduced price. Yep, that's 12 days of fishing for the price you "can't pass up". ARE YOU A "REEL" MAN ?
My new baja DVD should be completed within a couple weeks

Thanks and hope to see you in Baja
