I was out Last Wed and landed 6 fish a 4#, and 2# and 4 dinks. All subsurface unfortunately. I was in the northern section of the Delta with temps in the mid 60's and good clarity.

Have not had much luck around the South East Delta yet this year, not sure if its due to water clarity or the fact the only time I have had to fish has been on low tide. I think now that this weather is stable it should be lights out from now on.

Here is my bigi fish of the year so far from last Wed.

Fished Franks and the surrounding spots on friday afternoon and saturday morning with decent top water action. Small striper's in the usual spots as well. The guy at the dock say's 2 things. !) The stripers are 1 month behind 2) The Blue Gill are finally returning to Franks after the State have calibrated the strength of poison needed to control the invasive aquatic plants. Good news for the stripers and the kids that fish the docks.

Topwater!!! The fishing has been very good. The hot still days are the best because you can fish anywhere you like. You can also fish as slow or fast as you want. Big fish can be taken at any time of the day but morning and evening seem to be extra special. You just have to get out and do it!

Andan,

That little cut behind you in both pix's held some nice fish or you posed with the same fish with a wardrobe change. Which is it? In any case nice good job.

I was out there too on Friday morning in my inflatable kayak. Fly fished exclusively topwater deer hair bass bugs and got into a few. It was a beautiful day:

This healthy fatty was the best of my 2-hour session:

It was my 1st foray out there this year, and it definitely felt great to have a strong fish put a good bend in my 7 wt. rod. Anyone who's not getting out there is missing out. :D

Two of those particular pictures were the same fish...one without the hat and glasses. On that day almost all the fish I found were in the same type of water. It seems that every day and tide it is different. I have to look at several different types of water and cover. When I do find them I concentrate on that pattern...until it changes then I look around.

That day I caught 3 quality fish and several others...almost all on top water. My buddy caught a couple of quality fish and several others. We had a couple of quality fish come unbuttoned.
