FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

RIO Products, manufacturer of fly lines, leaders, tippet, and accessories, introduces the new Power VersiLeaders™ - an essential item for modern day fly fishers.

RIO's Power VersiLeaders are sinking leaders with an ultra tough core of 24 lb strength – ideal for both saltwater and big game freshwater species. A neat welded loop on the butt end makes it fast and easy to attach to the tip of a fly line; converting any floating fly line into a sink tip in seconds. In addition to helping a floating line sink, these leaders also aide in depth control when combined with sinking lines and tips.

Each leader is tapered for the maximum in casting performance and is 10 ft in length. The short, stripped monofilament core at the front end makes it simple to tie a knot in and add any required tippet. There are five different sink rates, and each one has a color-coded loop at the butt end to identify the sink rate. The Power VersiLeaders available are:

Intermediate - 1.5 ips - Clear
Slow Sink - 2.6 ips - Green
Medium Sink - 3.9 ips - Red
Fast Sink - 5.6 ips - Blue
Extra Fast Sink - 7.0 ips - Black

Each leader retails for $12.95 and can be purchased at RIO authorized dealers.

What's the core strength on the regular versi leader?

Believe the freshwater versileaders have a 12-lb core and the spey versi(s) have
a 24.

Spey versileaders have a 24 # core and the power versileaders have a 24 # core. Is there a different coating with the power version? What's the difference between the two?

Packaging...it is the exact same leader. There has been a lot of confusion on this whole "versi" thing. Even though we sell a lot of spey products in the shop, most shops across the country don't carry much in the way of two hand products. The new packaging will allow Rio to place the "Power/versi-spey" leaders in all of their retail outlets.

So with these versileaders, you just tie your fly to it or add a short section to it?

You still add a short section of tippet.
