OK guys and gals, where are all the shad? Nobody has posted anything since Jeff did a while back. How is the season going so far? Is anyone catching anything?
I went out once, March 7, and didn't get blown off the river, but almost. I didn't get a smell, bump or grab. The best part was the Black Walnut trees were still pollinating, there must be a million of those trees on the river. It took a few days to recover. I am not real inclined to give it another try (hah) until I hear that there is a reasonable chance of catching something other than pollen.
Would someone be so kind as to post when the catkins, aka danglies, are gone from the trees. Yeah, I know, nobody wants another guy on the river potentially in your favorite spot.
Guess I'll just have to suck it up and go fishing anyway. It would be nice to hear if anyone is catching anything.
