Packed my tube down to the back of the lake yesterday morning. It was a beautiful morning to be on the lake, water was 52 deg., no wind (which didn't help the fishing). I fished for about 3 hours for nothing, then caught a decent 15" rainbow. Had 1 other grab and that was it for the day. Sure beat being at work. Here is a pic of the lake when I got there:

The rainbow, this guy was fiesty. He jumped 2 times and made a couple of pretty good runs:

My make shift packable tube. I took my old deer pack frame and strapped my tube to it. I need to get one of those fancy tubes that come with straps!

Glad to see you got out and had at least one taker Dan. I am trying to decide on where to go this Saturday myself, I really need to sit on a lake and catch me some trout.

Well I can give you a list of where not to go:crybaby:. SHig met me at a lake up by my place last Saturday, we fished for a few hours and neither one of us even got a grab! I am busy the next two weeks, then small stream fishing with Grandpa, then thinking about hiking into a couple of lakes that are close together. Depends on the snow melt though, I'll hit you up if it ends up panning out.

That's a good use of the packframe, I like it.

How's the snow up there, looks pretty clear there by the lake. I was wondering about the road going further up, any looks while you were there?

I was told you can drive all the way up to the turn off to Hell Hole / French Meadows, maybe further? Spring is here!
