The new Rio Outbound Short type 6 sink rate integrated shooting head line is getting very popular around these parts.

Local Striper "commandos" Andy Guibord and Jim Christensen really like the way this line casts and it sinks very fast, but not quite as fast as lead core and tungsten level shooting heads.

On a single hand 9 foot #7, 8 or 9 weight rod the Rio Outbound Short type 6 sink is my choice for most who are starting after the local Stripers in our rivers, sloughs and Delta.

Because it is a fly line with tapers and a good design it cast smoother than level lead core and tungsten heads.

**That is what I will be fishing most of the time when I go for Stripers and want to get down.

Naturally we use intermediate and full floaters for Stripers at times but a very fast sinking line is the most popular and productive system.
