I haven't been out in a while so I was a little nervous about taking my good friend and south delta fishing ace Bruce Mckay out but I had promised him sometime back that I would take him out and we decided that we would also celebrate me getting my guides license all on the same day so here it goes!we met on the water at 6:30am within 5 seconds of our first stop he hooks a largemouth.I was happy to see that there was fish around and I was feeling a little more confident about the day.We had picked up and moved to a few spots that we got blanked on and on our next spot..BLAM!!! he hooks a 12lber!!The water temp was in its high 50's so you could imagin how tough his fight was in the warmer water. This was pretty much how are day went!! pretty much every spot that I took him to gave us some keepers with some nice 5-7lbers to boot!! Towards the middle of the day the wind really picked up and I didnt want our luck to change to I traveled to so rough water that I knew held some nice fish. After being battered all over the boat and taking water over the bow we got to my 1st spot and hooked a few keepers. The wind was howling/along with the water and wouldnt you know it he locks up with a 6lber.I decided to press my luck and take him into even worse weather and see hoe he would do.I took him to another spot and all I can say is he rose to the occasion!!LOL On his 1st cast he sarted his 1st strip and BAM!! a 7lber ate it on the drop!!All in all it was a hard day running the boat but it was totally worth it to finally take him out.We ented the day with about 60 boated with about 1/3 to 1/4 of them keepers. If this is a indication of how good the fishing is goiing to be this year then I am looking foward to having a better year than I had last year.
