Thinking outside the box

Yesterday our fly club had a fishout at Rancho Murieta, and fishing was a little slow in the morning along the shore. After lunch i decided to fish the deeper water (10) ft. with a # 3 shooting head, and a 3ft. leader with a suspended black wiggle that floated 3 ft. off the bottom, with a very, very, very slow craw back to the tube. At the end of 2 hrs with a sore wrist i caught over 10 bass 3-5 lbs.

Hi Gene,
How do you get the black wiggle to float/suspend? Do you tie them to float?

I would like to tie some and try in our santa clara lakes.
