Great color on the fish, and I like the half in the water shot, but the composition leaves me wanting to see the head of the fish and the reel.
Did you crop?

Yes, cropped to focus on that big tail and the old South Bend ventillated grip. The whole photo looks pretty good (below), but I kind of like the tantalizing effect of cropped fish photos. I think they do that a lot in fishing magazines and catalogues. Somehow it better captures how impressive a big fish seems in real life than a full length shot can.

Good call now that I see the whole thing. The crop definitely makes it a phot rather than a snapshot. I love the tail spots just under the water.
