Can you have a gas engine mounted to your boat with no fuel on board? Asking cause removing gas engine is not really an option. Have a trolling motor on boat.

Thanks,

No! You have to take it off.

Hi,
I have seen boats at Shadows Clliffs(electric motor only and boats less than 16') in Pleasanton with their gas motors tilted up and only using the electric motor.

Guess it depends on each individual lake itself. I had always been told if the lake is a no gas motor lake then no gas motors, I was told because there is still residue left on the motor.

I have seen guys wrap their motors in black garbage bags, tilted up. Not using it, no residue, should be fine. Or just tilt it.
