For those that did not catch the post in the New Product section...
We now have the new fly tying product: Fish-Skulls. I first saw this product at the Pleasanton Show in the fly tiers section. Al Ritt, from Colorado, was tying some great looking matuka patterns with the Fish-Skull product. We have them in all of the colors and sizes.
Here's their web site so you can see what is being done with them:http://flymenfishingcompany.org/products/fish-skull/

I have a drawer full of those things. good in a way bad in other ways. I'm mainly using them on my Tuna Tux patterns for baja. But they hurt when you get hit and can do a number on rods. I've seen a lot of neat patterns from others who use them.

Yes Jay, the large sized Fish-Skulls are quite a load. I began to wonder just how much the Fish-Skull products weighed. I also wondered how much our other products weighed so I did a little testing and here's some information that I think many of you may find of interest. I weighed the following products in the sizes that we carry:Fish-Skulls (FS), Lead eyes (LE), Real eyes (RE), Dazl eyes (DE), and I-Balz (IB). All of the numbers are in grains. I tried to place them in columns, however, this program just scrambled them up.

FS sm. 6, smm. 10, m. 24, lg, 40
LE xs, 8, sm. 10, m. 14, lg. 22
RE 5/32. 6, 3/16. 8, 7/32. 12 1/4. 22
DE 3/32. 4, 1/8. 6, 5/32. 8, 3/16. 10, 7/32. 14
IB 3/16. 12, 1/4. 32. 5/16. 66

so would the medium size be good for a striper fly?

That should work out, however, it does depend on the style and size of the hook. When I work on Saturday I'll check a few styles of hooks and sizes and post the results.
