Our the years we have had group horse pack trips through the shop where one of our staff was the host.
We use to go to Mammoth, CA and pack out of Red's Meadow's Pack Station.
Another good pack company is Kennedy Meadow Pack Station.
I think that our friend Charlie Fullerton said that there are about a dozen pack stations in California that are like a truck/bus service in the mountains.
They all have web sites and if you need any advice many of us at the shop have been on these high country trips.
Some one was in the shop yesterday who was interested so i was talking about it and it got me thinking about this wonderful fishing we have up there.
It is great in August and especially good for getting out of the heat. It is very cool at 10,000 feet in August, espcially around the camp fire after dinner.
Trips can be what ever you want them to be. They can take you and your gear up there and drop you off and then pick you up in a prescribed time or they can have a full on trip with tents, food, guides etc.
