Jeff Putnam's Spey Class

I took a beginner Spey Casting class from Jeff Putman last Sunday. Excellent class! I left knowing how to cast River Left, River Right, plus the basic roll cast. I started with my Beulah Switch Rod 4/5wt But had the wrong line so Jeff let me use his outfit for the class. Very Nice!
I am signing up for the Shad class in a couple months, can’t wait.

Jeff has some good Steelhead classes going on right now too.

Maybe he will have some Half-pounder Steelhead clinics this spring (March/April/May) before the Shad start running(May/June)

Working with Frank was a blast, beautiful weather and day! After dialing his equipment in he took off with spey casting. On a side note, I am offering 3 steelhead classes, Mar 6th, March 26th and Sept 3rd. The time is from 10am-2:30pm and the cost is $50.00 per person. We'll meet at Kienes Fly Shop. Class includes access, equipment, powerpoint presentation for fishing from Alaska to CA, lecture and discussion. All steelhead runs are covered, summer, winter and spring. Then we'll head to the American River for and On-The-Water demonstration including reading water and access.
