On Sunday I was taking a small hike (more like a stroll) with a friend along one of the smaller coastal creeks, let’s say between SF and Pacific Grove, (and no it was not the San Lorenzo – a lot smaller), we walked along the creek, and then on the way down we stood by the mouth. She was looking at the setting sun; of course my eyes were focused on the shallow clear water entering the Pacific. A big wave came ashore, and a few moments later I saw a nice big green back swim very quickly back to the ocean.
I have no idea whether the fish rode the wave in, or if it was headed out after doing its do… but it was good to see. Especially since this water has had some big fish kills over the years from my understanding.
As a side note, my friend found my hysteria of jubilation hysterical
