I'm up in Arcata from AZ fishing the Mad, but I'd like to see some new water. Yesterday a fly guy told me that all the rivers and creeks up here are low and clear, and I found that to be true on one coastal I hit last weekend. (Hooked a pounder, that was it.) I'm not asking for any "secret spots", just something general if you know a river or stream that's fishing okay. Thanks.

How far do you want to travel? I can think of some good spots but it will cost you. Lol

There is some good surf perching on some of the beaches if you're into that.

I've done well at Clam Beach.

I have not seen it but cannot believe the main stem Eel River is low and clear. 3000 cfs is very fishable from the bank and should be loaded with fish. A rare opportunity to fish this section of the river in Feb. Try anywhere below the confluence of the south fork. High Rock, Webber Cr, Holmes, Scotia are all good access points.

The Eel looked just about perfect when I drove over it at Fernbridge on Sunday. What's wrong Bruce tired of lining fish at the hatchery?

LOL! I told you in the past where to go, (being discreet) why you afraid of that river?

There is only about 100 miles of river to fish in the Eel river its not like anybody is marking the spots to fish.

Thanks, guys. I'll give the Eel a shot. It's a bit daunting to me; I've fished there before, without a grab and felt like I had no idea where the fish were in that long river, but I'll try the main stem.
