We were planning to go to Wy. to fish grey reef but it was much to cold for me. So we decided to fish the Arkansas in Pueblo instead. It turned out to be the right choice. It was a little windy but the temps were in the high 40's low 50's.
There was a BWO hatch around noon. Dry flies during the winter has to be the most chalenging part of FFing for me. I got a couple to take a #20 para adams but I missed at least 5. Did I say it was difficult? We nymphed in the morning and had more success, but not as much fun. I also learned how to swing flies. It's hard not to set when you feel the first tick.
Caught the first day of the FFing show in Denver on Friday then headed to the airport.
