I'll try again. My brother needs two CDL 7/8 spools. Redington doesn't even have them as parts! Looking a little dismal.

Goog luck to you. It seems redington discontinued reels and spools are very hard to come by. I love my redington reels and wouldnt part with them.

This is my biggest complaint with Redington. I now have both stranded CD's and CDL's. Love the reels, but this is getting a little old. Maybe just my imagination, but seems like Redington's models change more frequently than some others. I

I was fortunate to pick up another 5/6 CDL and a 7/8 CDL on eBay recently, but I never see any spools.

One of these days I need to stop by when I'm in Redding, as the Fly Shop's LA series reels look pretty darn similar. Only response I got on the phone was "you could try it." I have heard that the Orvis mid-arbor fits the Redington Rise. Don't know about the Orvis large arbor relative to CDL. Looks like it may be closer to the Redington Delta. Some factory in Korea is making a lot of these mid-price reels.

is the CDL different from the CDL titanium? See a lot of CDL titanium 7/8's at shops online it seems.

lorney,

Thanks for the heads up. They aren't the same, but I have some CD's also.
