Frenchman 12/11

Meet up with Reno Flytyer "Mike" and one of his buddies John for a day on the lake. This would be my first trip to Frenchman so I was excited, not to excited about getting up and leaving at 5:00 am to be there by 8:00 but oh well gotta do what you gotta do. Nice ride with no problems all the way to the lake, get to the lake and there is a little snow on the road but nothing my little car couldn't handle. As I crossed over the dam I saw plenty of fish rising everywhere, it looks like it is going to be a good day. I get in the water in my float tube only to find out I forgot my neoprene wading boots so all I had was my wader stocking boots. No big deal the water is a balmy 39 degrees and fish are rising. So I push off from shore make my first cast and start kicking over to meet Mike, about 3 seconds later fish on!! Gotta love a fish right off the bat, yet at the same time is this going to be one of those 1 cast 1 fish days with no more fish to come. Well I am very happy to say no, it is not going to be one of those days, it is going to be a great day. Caught plenty of nice fish and lost plenty of nice fish. Mostly holdovers, a couple small planters but other than those the average size was about 16 inch. I look forward to going back and kicking around, but next time I will bring my neoprene boots.

You made it....nice to see some clean looking fish. Looks like you were fishing down by the main boat ramp, did you kick over to the west side of the bay??? Look's like Pyramid is next on your list.

Stayed near the boat ramp since my fins were to big for my feet with no booties. I couldn't get to far, but I didn't need to go far either. Every pass I made by the ramp got me a couple bites and a fish.

Get to Pyramid maybe the week after xmas.

Had a great time having you up here Scott. You taught those fish a lesson, that's for sure! I'll be sending you a couple of pictures later today. Don't be a stranger, and let me know when you can make it back up...we'll smoke those fish!
