Pulse flow q's.

Can anyone explain to me why they pulse the middle fork of the american this time of year? Really starting to piss me off that a river so close to me is such a piece of crap because of these flows.

I thought the pulse flows stopped in October every year.

When I lived in Sac, every summer I couldn't wait until fall to hike down and fish the MFA when the rafter flows finally ceased out of Oxbow/Tunnel Chute. One of my favorite all-time canyons! Usually the flows stay around 200-300 this time of year. Today it's at 795. Is it raining down there??? That might be the culprit.

By the way......the reason the fishing is quickly deteriorating in that river is not necessarily the flow regime. I believe it's more due to the un-godly amounts of rock snot choking the buglife out of the river.

The fishing is very tough in that river this time of year. When the water gets cold, those fish completely shut down. Even on sunny warm-ish afternoons. I didn't bother going down there after mid-November. October is money though!
