Tried to get my striper fix the past three days with so-so results.

Saturday:

Had an early morning start this morning with a friend. Started off with a 2-hour casting session. No hits, no grabs. Moved around and finally started marking some fish. Broke the skunk with a small stripe. My friend followed up with a chunky 6-lber. Felt nice to get the tug after a hours of flogging the water. Caught a couple more smaller fish then it shut down. Moved to another spot and marked lots of fish....but none wanted to play. Same story for the next two spots. The rain and the wind picked so we packed it in.

Black Friday:

"How about I drop you off at the mall? I'll go fishing and I'll pick you up on the way home when I'm done". My wife couldn't refuse. She gets to shop early with a drop-off / pick-up service.
Loaded my toon and misc. gear on the truck. Launched at first light after I dropped off the wife at the mall.

36-lb thrust of muscle pulling the 'toon at walking pace. Fins used as rudders. Pretty relaxing 'run and gun'.

Floating hipshooter. Worked good:

Saw some small splashes along the way and picked up a couple of small stripes. Got to the first little cove and worked the water for nil. Moved to the next cove and and had better results.

Fan casting in open water yielded some fiesty schoolies:

He wanted that fly:

Got a few more cookie-cutter stripes around the same cove. Casted closer to shore and ripped the fly through the weeds. As soon as the fly popped through the weeds, it got smacked.

Bonus fish:

A little bigger:

Not a bad way to spend a black Friday morning. Got some fish slime on my fingers and the wife put a huge dent on some Christmas shopping. And the bank account :)

Thanksgiving morning:

Had a quick morning session with another striper junkie. It was freezing a$$ cold. The action was very slow but we still managed to get a few bumps that kept things interesting.

We hookep-up on one of those bumps and it was a decent one:

Not a bad 3-day session. A nice mix of solo time and sharing the boat with fellow striper nuts.
