Fished alone yesterday out of New Hope and after seeing how dirty the water was I almost pulled out and went home. Decided to stick it out and see if I could find some clear water. Ran south for 20 minutes or so and found a slough that looked pretty clear. Fished it for an hour and a half and found one spot that was holding fish. Hooked and landed 6 stripers, four non kept keepers to 5# and 2 dinks and 2 small LMB.
Fished out of Orwood today with Dr. Ben Wilson. Put in at first light and found one good fish right away. Moved over to Mildred and found a few more, but fish were scattered. Tried a few other spots with no success and made the long run to Franks Tract. Went to one of our usual spots and marked fish right away. We made several drifts and hooked fish on every drift including 3 fish on 3 consecutive casts with a good grab on the fourth and 2 doubles. For 40 minutes or so we had the spot all to ourselves then about 1:30 every one and there mother showed up. At one point I counted 5 boats with fly gear and 3 conventional guys all fishing the same 1/4 mile stretch of water. To much traffic for me so we ran back to Disco and finished our day. 29 stripers from 1 to 5 pounds and 1 small LMB.
Thanks Dr, Ben.
