Just returned from our second annual Morrison's Rogue River Lodge trip. Again, the food and lodging was as good as you can find at any lodge that I have visited. A thanks to Zac for providing a well organized outing. Lowel, the lodge manager, went out of his way to provide us early breakfasts and late dinners so we could spend extra time on the river. We chose to swing flies with our two hand rods for all three days. We did drifts in various sections of the river from Gold Hill down to Galice. The water temps ranged in the area from 52-54F. We had to work very hard to get one to two adult steelhead per day per angler. Our largest fish for the trip was a nice wild 27 inch hen. It felt that we were in between pushes of fish and the those that were there were not very grabby. Our guides, Darrel Hanks, Brian Slusser, and Brice Tedford, were all excellent! All three have a good knowledge of the two hand game and can help anglers improve their skills. We have the same time slot booked for next year and plan to make it an annual event.
