Middle Rogue Steelhead

Back at it this AM below Grants Pass. Hooked & landed a huge, 33", male in full spawning colors. While taking the hook out the fish flopped away-hence no picture. Then caught & released this 23" wild fish. Both taken on the bead head nymph. A nice 4 point buck crossed the Rogue in heavy water and came out of the water less than 10 feet from me. Don't know who was most surprised. Today landed my 300th & 301'st Rogue adult fish. With about a 60% landing ratio must have hooked 500 adult fish. Am blessed to have the opportunity to live on the banks of the Rogue.

Terry,

Am sure you will recognize this spot. Hooked both fish about 50 yards upstream but took them down to this bar to land them. Lots of rain for us with this storm. So far 1.52 inches in Grants Pass and the Rogue is on the rise.
