headed over to the trinity on sunday for my first of many steelhead trips. my goal this year is to get my first steelhead to hand. anybody have any recent reports from the trinity?

Bring your rain jacket and Plan B. It looks like it could dump this weekend. Hope you get into some.

yeah i saw the weather report. if its a down poor we wont go but if its just some rain well go atleast scout some spots we havent fished before and wet a line.

It's looking like it is not going to be as bad as first forecasted. If it gets muddy, just move upstream till you find clear water.

I've had my best fishing in the rain on the T. Lowers the light and fish get grabby.
I'll be there the 5th, can't wait.

I fished it yesterday. Water is low and clear. Temperature was 55.7F. The river had dropped from Sunday. The Willow Creek weir has counted very few steelhead.

looks like the river has come up a little. hopefully the chrome is on the move. if the river hasnt come up too much over night ill be heading over for the day.

Good luck. I wish I was over there, with this rain things should start improving. My first two trips have been less than stellar.

well i woke up at 6:30 this moring. checked the flows on the trinity. the area we were going to fish had come up 900cfs overnight. so we decided not to go. just checked flows again and they are way up. hopefully i can get over there next weekend.

If you are headed over this weekend good luck. I am going to try to head over Friday unless this forecasted rains gets to heavy.

im going to try and get over saturday or sunday if the rain isnt too heavy.
