Featured on Angler West TV recently was Diamond Lake, Oregon. A nice show. Beautiful scenery to boot.

Discussed was the abundance of fish food and the recent treatment to erradicate the Tui Chub.

Obviously, Oregon FG was successful in the treatment of Diamond Lake and the fish plus their food are thriving again.....

Amazing what happens in 'nature' when California greed/politics or politics/greed (all the same) don't interfere......

The problem is its a total meat market. You can kill 5 under 20" and that lake is loaded with 19 3/4" fish. And the lake is a zoo to say the least. It is no secret that many anglers are whacking their limit and returning to the lake for more the same day. The popularity of this lake and the rediculous regulations are really showing up this fall. Not nearly as many big fish as last fall. It is the epitome of a fish farm. Pretty sad really cause they are stocking a fantastic strain of fish from multiple hatcheries. The regulations require mass stockings frequently. If the process doesnt change, it will be a great place to take the family and stuff the freezer, but thats about it.

This is from me and a group of guys that fish it frequently.

Sorry to hear the downside of the goings-on at Diamond Lake. IMO, it's the same old 'story' with us humans..... take, take, take, take, take....... Eagle Lake, CA has a two fish limit and this rule doesn't seem to slow the flow of people that fish that lake when it's open.... Perhaps, the negative side effect is a two fish limit at Diamond Lake, i.g.; more rules because people could not see fit to just do the right thing.... We're just not as civilized as we think we are.....

On the flip side, at least you have this fishery..... If Diamond Lake were in CA, it would have been ruined by now.....
