McCloud flies

Going to the McC Oct 10-15th, hoping for October Caddis. Any Isonychia there? any other suggested patterns? Hoppers and Stimi's, I'm sure............

never seen iso there. big browns on std small dries in the evening can be had if you hit it right that time of yr.

The McCloud is fishing great of late, I hope you have an enjoyable trip. Saw my first October Caddis last night, hopefully will have some heads up in time for your trip. I have found the old style Sofa Pillow to work a bit better for October Caddis than Stimi's, perhaps because they skate and skitter a bit more? I also have found Ken Morrish's pattern to be a good one.

I have seen Iso's though not many, not sure if they will still be around for your trip? Some evening mayflies are about, might want to also bring some BWO, PED dries, and spinners as well.

Nymphing prior to these hatches has been producing, and of course streamers for Browns this time of year can on occasion help you find a fish that will make your trip.
