I'd like to rent a cabin in november for some steelheading on the trinity. Somewhere up closer to lewiston would be preferable. Need a cabin for me and 2 other dudes. Does anyone have a recommendation of one close to the river and for a reasonable rate? We don't need anything fancy, but not a junker either.

Here are some choices:

1) Lewiston Valley Motel - they have built small cabins on the property. It's about 1/4 mi from the FF waters (which I believe closed on Sept 15th)

2) Much further away is a place called Arttus Ranch. It's down Steiner Flat Road past Douglas City. Never stayed there

3) Indian Creek Lodge- never stayed there but it's right on the river on 299. They have a two bedroom unit with K and LR.

Indian Creek Lodge is where I would go. Its right on the river, great access, as well as close to douglas city, lewiston, poker bar, all those areas on 299. The FF only water opens back up January 1st.

The Trinity River Adventure Inn folks have a "cabin" across from the Bucktail put in, three miles from Lewiston, and four more just off Steel Bridge Road. Last winter, we rented their "Sows Ear," at Bucktail, three bedrooms/two baths, with a woodburning stove - nice after a cold, rainy day on the river. Nice folks running the place, we'll use them again.
