We fished William Pond area this morning, 6:30 to 9:30. Bead Head Stone with prince and hairs ear dropper. No hits. Friend had simlar setup, no hits either. Perfect conditions, except the fish. May be too early??

The sand and gravel in that area has filled in considerably due to the erosion of sediments in the higher (8000 cfs) summer flows and deposition of those sediments in the subsequent, lower (5000>4000>3000>2500>1800 cfs) flows.

In my opinion... what was once good 1/2 lb steelhead holding water in that particular area is less than optimal now... Better bet would be Sailor Bar or the lower river.

Yes, it's amazing how much that area changes when flows change so drastically. The side channel used to be good there too before it got filled in and diverted into that pond area as well. I was in that area Friday and saw nothing working but I was fishing for stripes.
