Finally got up to the Silver Fork for a few hours today. My last trip was curtailed when I had to be towed back from Shingle Springs :( Time for a new trout mobile anyway. Could only fish an hour or so in the a.m., but managed to get a half dozen decent fish to rise to a #12 stimulator and a #14yellow humpy. I'd post pics, but unfortunately my cel phone disappeared somewhere along the way...I guess I have a jinx with this place.

Any time spent on the Silver Fork makes for a great day, I love that place it is one of my favorite if not my favorite.

I was there yesterday. Caught several, missed many more, all on dries.

The highlight was a 10" Brown. I think I've caught that same fish each of my last three trips up there. He hangs out against the bank and under the elephant leaves at one of my favorite runs. He's a sucker for an EC Caddis.

In response to another post--no way am I getting on the highways this weekend.

I too fished the silver fork yesterday. My daughter called me up on Wed and said she wanted to go fishing. Joey was in school so we had lunch in Placerville and hit the water around 2. She has not been fly fishing in a long time but her casting was pretty darn good. She told me it was like riding a bike. She hooked several and missed a bunch but by the end of the day she had one to hand all on her own. I think she is becoming a bit of an Adrenaline junky as she went Sky Diving on Monday but not sure where fly-fishing fits into the picture. We did get a good work out hiking up the west side. I did ok but I thought the fishing was a little tough for the size of the fish.
