Now is a good time to plan to attend the Sportsmans Expo next weekend at
the Placerville Fairgrounds. And while you are thinking of it, buy your tickets
now and come to the NCCFFF dinner-fund raiser at the Vicini
Family Pavilion, Saturday, October 2 starting at 5:00 PM.

Placerville's Sportsmans Expo is a new event that extends from Friday October 1
through Sunday, October 3. In addition to the outdoor program at the Sportsmans
Expo, the Northern California Council of the Federation of Fly Fishers will have
hands-on casting and fly tying demonstrations during the day.
Gene Kaczmarek, who Chairs the Tyers for NCCFFF and has held Salmon Fly and
other advanced tying workshops in Sacramento for CFFU, will be there tying, as
will our own Past President, Dave Ford . So bring your vise and tie along with
some of these great fly tyers.

As well, bring your fly rod. Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting
Instructors will be available there at the fair grounds to help you work
with your casting problems.

Tickets to the BBQ dinner on Saturday evening are priced at $30.00 per person.
Advanced dinner reservations are needed. A social hour precedes the 6:00 PM
dinner. The auction and raffle that are part of the event will
feature donations being collected by another of our CFFU Past President's, Bob
Cooper (if you have items to donate call Bob at 683-5514).

Funds raised from the dinner go to support NCCFFF work on conservation programs
such as interfacing with the Department of Fish and Fish and Game Commission on
regulations; advocacy for Game Warden pay equality; Federal dam relicensing
representation; Steelhead and Striped Bass lawsuits, and donations to Club
activities such as CFFU's Trout in the Classroom program (NCCFFF recently
granted the club over $3,000 and has applied for additional funds for this
program).

Come up for the evening, a day or the weekend. There will be plenty to do and
see there at the fair grounds, and to enjoy as the early fall starts its show
throughout the Placerville - Camino to Plymouth apple, pear and wine-growing
area.

Online Dinner Reservations may be made at

Hangtown Fly Fishers will have a booth at the front of the Main Exhibit Hall, right across the aisle from the DFG. Come by and say "Hi".
