Nice Steelhead in the Lower American River.

The river is down now to a nice low (2,200 cfs) flow now and fall is near.

We have had about 4 different reports of 4-5 pound Steelhead caught in the river in the past week on flies.

Get out very early or very late and swing flies for these fresh hot fish.

For someone who has never fished the American before, where is a good place to start? What kind of flies do people swing? Stoneflies? Copper Johns? How have the break-ins been this year? Thanks Bill!
