View Full Version : Cosumnes River near Plymouth, California

My grandfather was raised on a ranch right on the south side of the Cosumnes River down stream from Plymouth.

Saturday we had a small family get together with swimming, snorkeling, fishing and a big barbecue.

Saw lots of beautiful Smallmouth Bass, Blue Gills, crayfish, frogs, turtles, tadpoles and some LMB in the slack water.

Water was a perfect temperature for swimming and very clear.

Fish mostly in the day time so I only caught some small fish on a small crayfish imitation.

One of the few undammed rivers in California.........

Beautiful area Bill I live very near where your talking about. But, you forgot to talk about two of other very prevalent thing we have in the foothills of Amador County! Poison Oak and Rattlesnakes, it's been a good year for both of them around the river... Becareful in the evenings down by the river, we've seen several large rattler's down there this year...
