In another thread, Ed Wahl pondered:

The rumor is true but I couldn't catch any. I saw one scoot across the shallows that went 18 to 20 inches. It's a larger and deeper lake than the other one. Maybe have to bring in the toon and a fast sinking line.
The afternoon wind was picking up so I decided that was enough and started down the trail, (this lake has one).

Hey Ed, I think this is the guy you saw, went 19":

Too bad that there's not too many of them in there as far as I can tell.
Scott and I tried the floating craft and sinking lines. He got one grab out of the tube and I MAY have had one, but I had to stand on a rock and wait for this one to cruise by to get our only fish of the day. What a rush to watch this guy see and nail a fly in such clear water!
As you can tell in the photo, the weather was gorgeous, and the water clear. Lots of people at the lake though. NOT solitude on this day.

I am LOVING this float tube. Weighs NOTHING and I float like a cork with the inflatable seat in place. Same can't be said for the tube I lent Scott. After coming in off the skunk, it started leaking at the valve stem which put the kibosh on floating any more that day. :(
This lake has a population of these guys in it:

Look like speckled dace or something similar. Should be hearty food for big cutts, but I fear that the initial planting of the LCT in here is slowly being fished out. The shore fishers only mentioned seeing single and paired cruisers. There was some surface action in the middle of the lake, but trout aren't choking the place.
Still good fun. Sorry Scotty, you may have to wait for Heenan or Pyramid to get your big LCT! :)
