From the Stockton Fishing Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/fishing-in-stockton/delta-anglers-can-support-their-waterways-restore-the-delta-cspa-present-a-delta-bass-tournament-1):

The Restore the Delta (http://restorethedelta.org/?page_id=38) organization and the California Sportfishing Protection Alliance unite for a day on the Delta for fun and fundraising, featuring a bass tournament for boaters, fly fishermen, kickboaters and kayakers.

The angling event will apply 2/3 of the tournament entry fees as a donation for education, outreach and lobbying for restoration of water flows for a healthy Delta ecosystem.

The remaining 1/3 of the cost of registration will be used for tournament payback. Additional option pools at 100% payback will be offered.

Fishermen will find that 2/3 of the cost of registration can be used as a tax deductible donation.

What: Bass Tournament
Where: Russo's Marina on the California Delta
When: October 17
Cost: $150 per Boat Team, $150 per Fly Fishing Team, or $75 per Individual Kickboat or Kayak

================================================== ========

BTW - I actually found this via the California Fisheries Network (http://http://www.calfish.net/) website!

Darn it!!!! I'm gonna get back from Baja, the day before the tourney. It sure sounds like a lot of fun and a great benefit activity.... If there's another tourney, maybe I can make that one.... :D

If Hairstacker gets into this one, my money's on him.... ;)

As long as the dates don't interfer with the Duck season opener I am in.
One flyfishing tournament a year just doesn't seem like enough, glad to hear there is another coming up. I am going to do what I can to be there.:mrgreen:

Say hey SpicyT,
This is the same event we announced at the Bass-N-Fly tourny (just before giving you the trophy!). It's a great way to get all the parties involved toward a solid conservation effort.
Cheers, Ken

If I'm free that day, I'll be there.
