I heard today that the Merced River coming out of Yosemite National Park is very good with a powerful evening dry fly thing happening right now.

From the west side park entrance downstream to the mouth of the South Fork of the Merced River is about 8 miles of good trout water.

Hi Bill,
The Merced River is my "Home" water. There is a lot of good fly water between Yosemite valley and the South Fork.I don't think DFG has stocked the river this season,so all trout will be fairly "wild".The river also has a good population of Smallmouth bass well above the South Fork confluance.
Watch out for snakes! I almost stepped on a big rattler my last time on the River.
