Lance Gray & Company has joined with Jason Hartwick to conduct a Spey & Switch School on the Trinity River.
Jason is a well known Spey & Switch fly fisher who works at Kiene’s Fly Shop in Sacramento and owns his own guide business “Steelhead on the Spey”. Jason is very creative at the vise and is currently and Idylwilde Flies Signature Tier. Jason is well versed in Spey & Switch Rod mechanics and has the willingness to teach others his passion.
The Trinity River Spey & Switch School is based on our well known and successful program that we conduct on the Feather River. Every riffle and run will be the classroom. We will cover techniques like Snap T, Single Spey, Double Spey, Cackhanded Snap T and Perry Pokes.
The school’s curriculum covers rods, reels and lines. The instructors will show you how to setup your rods to your advantages for different situations based on real hands on instruction during the school. We will cover flies, sink tips and poly leaders. The students will have the opportunity to use and explore other equipment. We also encourage the students to bring their own equipment to learn with and for us to tune up. Curriculum also includes reading water, locating holds and determining which technique should be used to make a cast to that fish.
This two day school is for four students. The school will give students one on one instruction with three different instructors.
Dates for the schools are –
December 12 & 13, 2010
December 19 & 20, 2010
Cost for the two day school is $450.00 dollars a student. All equipment is provided except wading gear and personal items.
This school is going to be awesome!
