I have an Echo Trip rod- 8 piece, 5wt, 9ft. I broke the second section (next to tip) the first time I used the rod, last Monday on the Kern. Broke while landing my first fish.
Last Weds, I sent it back to Echo Rods (Rajeff Sports) with the required $35 check and a note that I was not happy that it broke because it had never been hit or stressed in any way (not even in casting).
Today I recevied a entire new rod with a handwritten note from Tim Rajeff stating they knew the 2nd section was "not as strong as we'd like and has been corrected" plus he sent my check back.
Products are not always perfect, but a company that immediately takes care of its customers is a company that will keep my business.
