Anyone been to Round Lake

I am hiking into Round Lake tomorrow and was wondering if a float tube is really needed. It is about 3 miles in and not sure I want to lug my float tube if it is not really needed.

Can't tell about the float tube, but... the skeeters are wicked up there right now--particularly morning and evening. Take some deet with you buddy.

I've been there once, years ago.

Here's what I remember about it.

Didn't need a tube.

There were no crowds at all.

There are Cutts in there.

The water was pristine.

I was very impressed.

You couldn't do better.
