With all the reports saying "go now" I coerced my wife into going to the
Upper Sac. Left Friday afternoon and was on the water by 4:45pm at
the secret location ;)
Water felt wonderful in the 100 degree heat and I didn't even mind going
under to my neck a few times (although not planned).
The fishing was consistent. Started out nymphing with a golden stone.
Switched to a sz 14 green z-wing and started hooking up. Caught several
12" and a nice 15". At dusk switched back to a golden stone
foamulator and caught a few more...even got a nice one on the swing
at dark. My wife kept casting even after I was done...she had the fever.
The water wasn't boiling, but there were plenty of rises.
Btw, the caddis absolutely littered the bottom. Took a few underwater pics
with my new camera.
Hit Mossbrae Falls Sat morning and picked up a couple. I had never seen
it before. Very pretty, but lots of swimmers. We tried fishing yesterday
afternoon, but it wasn't very good- I think they are hunkering down midday.
Some parts were flowing quite fast, so pick your riffles carefully. I got dunked
several times and it felt awesome. :)
