Went for a little hike this morning looking for brookies, I knew I would find little guys but was really surprised at the sizes I found every now and then. Water was nice and cold and the fish were super hungry like normal. Fished nothing but a single dry fly all day and had rise after rise. Another great day high in the country. You gotta love ity bity tiny crystal clear water.

I really do believe brookies are the prettiest of the trout. Well, char actually, but who cares?

Brookies are awesome fish. Streams like that, and the san gabriel river outside of El Lay, are good reason for Sage having the 0000000 wt rods.

I remember as I kid I sometimes confused brooks for browns because of the red spots. I wonder how they have them when they are not even a trout?

Good job Scott, looks like you managed to fool a few the Elders in that stream.=D>

I should have taken the invite, and skipped out on boating.](*,)

Wow...some pretty nice size brookies for that width of a creek.
Yep, i agree..brookies are the prettiest of the trout/char/salmonoid etc etc.
:-)

And isn't that measure net the cooliest thing?? Love mine.

Good thing you had that 6 weight and size 10 fly! :)

I just got a new measure net for Pyramid, the 40" with the 4 foot handle, want to borrow it next time? :P

Coool report brother! I taught myself to fly fish the creeks and Upper Truckee River in South Lake Tahoe from reading "The Curtis Creek Manifesto". Catching pretty little trout from small water is simply rewarding. Like you said, "only one dry fly all day". Recently I have been hitting a creek in Hope Valley and getting 4 species(Browns, Cutts, Bows and Brooks) nothing over 12" but awesome dry action. Thanks again and Good luck, Eric:)
