Bill,

My buddy dax guides out there in the wintertime. He would be happy to help you out. Dax is an incredible angler and instructor. You would be very pleased with him.

I fished with Gordon Watson last year. Lets just say you would be a fool to hire any other guide. PM with any questions.

I'd recommend you check out the New Zealand Professional Fishing Guides Association web site.

http://www.nzpfga.co.nz/

All members are bound by a code of conduct, attend regular training sessions, and have the legally required concessions to guide in the national parks.

I'm happy to answer any questions you may have.

My lodge is located at the other end of the South Island, so I'm not trying to steer you towards my place....

Enjoy !!

I would second Dax Messett, he is a passionate and contagious guy. However he is usually still on the Trinity River guiding steelhead at that time. But he can certainly give you some good info and maybe refer you to a great guide in the area you traveling.

Have fun!

Hi People and thanks for the kind words, Todd it was great fishing with you.
Felix Borenstein makes a good point if you are coming to NZ to fish it's good to check out the http://www.nzpfga.co.nz/ site and make sure your guide has the right permits to guide in NZ.There are guides who are not members that have concessions and are legally allowed to guide here but there are others that don't. Believe me when I say people have traveled to NZ with their overseas guide, and had them sent home on the next available plane, they then, are left standing with no guide and not knowing what to do.
With the NZPFGA it is like Felix says ''All members are bound by a code of conduct, attend regular training sessions, and have the legally required concessions to guide in the national parks.''

And Bill looking forward to our time together and getting you hooked into a few Trout.
