Keith was invited to fish with friend George Brown on the water at the San Francisco Club on the main Truckee River last week. I emailed hiom for a report:

HI Bill,

Truckee fished well... nymph fished through the afternoon and then fished dries in the last hour of light. Good hatch of PMDs and some caddis.

Nymphs: PTs (#16); Hares Ear Prince (#14); Iron Sally (#14)

Dries: Winged Ants drowned (#14), Parachute Adams (#14), Yellow Stimulator (#14)

Water level and temps were perfect...

Keith

I fished the Truckee today from 830- 115 lots of fly fishermen and a couple of spin fishing anglers too. The water is now very fishable...still some sketchy spots be sure to take a staff... I ended up with 5, (not bad for five hours work) I landed one on a dry and missed two more on a size 18 pmd dry behind a hopper.... got lots of refusals. Biggest fish was fourteen inches but a really fat little guy....Midges worked best for me sizes 16-18...but the best was all 5 fish came on flies I tied myself.

While we are at it I'll post a pic from Sunday.
I saw lost of small caddis and mayflies but no ants or stones and no adult drakes.
Fished drys. Got three in four hours (evening).

Nice fish. I'm still a rookie so I don't land that many, but from the looks of your pic, I've been using the net all wrong, lol.
