Genetically Altered....

Today's SacBee included an article that says the FDA is considering approval of a genetically altered Salmon for human consumption. These fish will be altered to include an on switch that allows a Salmon to make growth hormone continually from a distant cousin called a Pout. Apparently, Salmon do not produce growth hormone in cold water. (who knew....) According to the article, this alteration will allow Salmon to reach marketable size in a shorter amount of time than is possible naturally.... :neutral:
