Only joking.............but I just talked to Bob Grace at the Ted Fay Fly Shop and then local Dunsmuir guide Bill Carnazzo and they think about mid-July should be a good time to hit the Upper Sacramento River for nice lower water levels for wading.

In fact Bill Carnazzo, who also guides the forks of the American and Yuba Rivers, said that by mid-July we should have good fly fishing in lots of the mid-elevation Sierra streams.

Two days ago Bill was up on a small tributary of one of the rivers west of here and the water was 42 degrees and high still.

My advice is to fish a lots of the streams between here and Tahoe a lot in the last half of July.
