My bother and I took the boat out for it's initial shake down trip before we investigate the Delta waters. Only the third time the boat has been in the water since my dad passed, my gosh 6 years ago, and left the craft to us. Brother upgraded the electronics so we need to re-educate ourselves. Unhooked all the tie downs etc., like we have been doing it weekly, and dumped the boat in the lake. The Yamaha didn't want to fire up at first, but finally turned over and purred like a kitten. All seemed well until I noticed water inching up the old Nikes! Always check the drain plug! At least we know all the pumps work well! Got to the first point, let the trolling motor down and, nada! Zip, nothing! "Worked yesterday fine. All I did was remove some lights dad used for night fishing." Oops broken circuit. We finally did manage to let the wind blow us by some good water and turned a couple of fair fish. Brother just emailed that the circuit is complete and we will try again next week!
