4th of July might be good this year on many rivers and streams because everything is so late.

I think July will be a good month for trout in streams and lakes at the mid-elevations.

Bill is right. The rivers in the Sierras should be good if not great this July. Rivers are falling to a fishable level as I write this reply. Bugs need to hatch and fly away, and now is the time. The fish will be looking up so think about dries. The snow in the shade and on the peaks really does have to melt and go away sometime, and it is happening.
