hey all,
im totally settled in to the lodge up here. the work load is pretty intense, as it is my job to keep the island spic and span, and i have to run the jenny and keep all of the propane topped. it is insanely beautiful up here, and the weather is really sporadic. one second its couldy and raining and the next it feels like its 95, when its really 60
well today my boss let me off early, so i went to one of my favorite pike bays and got some of those toothy things. pike are insane. you put a fly near them when they are hungry and they destroy the fly. i rigged up a push pole and poled the sled up an inlet and found some willing fish. poling a 17ft jet sled in the wind is not easy, but i found the fish, got about 5 landed, and probably 10 hooked, these fish have extremely bony mouths and you have to set hard, which im still getting the hang of, they certainly put my 7wt to the test.
